So, I was cleaning out my room, and I came across some old school assignments...mostly grade school and high school. When I found this one, I nearly fell over...COMPLETELY forgot I wrote this.
If my memory serves me right, we were reading Hamlet, and the assignment was to write your own "To Be or Not to Be" speech for another fictional character, using Hamlet's soliloquy as a blueprint.
I'm a HUGE fan of the Austin Powers triolgy, so, naturally, I chose Dr. Evil :D

To be Evil or not to be Evil: by Dr. Evil

To be evil or not to be evil - that is the question:
Whether 'tis more "hip" for Scott and I to edure
Through another frickin' group therapy session, quite inconsequential,
Or to have Scott see Daddy take over the world
And, in celebration, kill Austin Powers, since Patty O'Brien
And Random Task were not able to. To kill, to be evil-
No more - and by evil to say we destroy
Every frickin' town and every frickin' city on the planet
Thank you very much - 'tis an evil plan
That must be carried out. To be evil, to destroy-
To destroy, perchance an underground missile. Shoot, there's the catch.
For in that evil plan what other evils may emerge,
If I don't kill Mr. Powers, I do not tolerate failure.
Must now pet my kitty... There's the chance
That Mr. Powers will foil my plans...again
For that idiot would, to stop me, travil the scorns of time;
The evil doctor's downfall, the aging hipster's strength
The bitter spasm of being foiled, revenge's delay,
The insolence of my henchmen, and, of course, the trials
That favor patience that the unworthy Powers possesses,
When he himself might make a blundering fool
Out of me? Of course, who would object
To giving him an overly elaborate and exotic death,
But there is the dread of him escaping death,
The unknown trait that he is also evil;
Free love, swinging parties: it puzzles the mind
And makes me rather sick; those ills we both possess
We should flock to each other; he knows not of?
That coincidence will not make me any less evil,
And so, by my brilliant steps of thought, my plan
Is drenched o'er with such great genius and chance.
With this premeditation, the future looks dim for Mr. Powers
And he shall neither win the battle nor the war.
And so, gentlemen, let's get down to business...

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! In March I put money in jamie55's expired parking meter (14 points). Last Sunday I helped lilithisbitter hide a body (-173 points). In January msmanuscript and I robbed a bank (-50 points). In February I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Last Saturday I bought porn for sazz_k (-10 points). Overall, I've been naughty (-200 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich! Sincerely, eqchilipepper

The USB cord for my digital camera finally came in....so now my poor computer is experiencing constant uploads :( Oh well...

Vid #1:
Trump and I showing in showmanship at the Regional Experience in MN. It was after midnight, and we had been showing since 10am...I wanted to get the f*** out of there >:( We ended up 6th out of 20-some exhibitors. I was thrilled because we didn't even place last year.




Vid #2:
Same show....different class. This was day #3 of the show, and Trump was in need of some chiro work. He was cranky and wanted to buck whenever I asked for a canter. Poor boy :(

This is Lucy's first time showing in trail. She rocked it out like a pro :D

Just got back from the horse show. My little Lucy was amazing...only a couple bobbles, but other than that, she was a superstar. I really wish it wasn't the end of the '09 show season, but 2010 will be even sweeter ;-)

* Amateur Showmanship - NP out of 12 entires...Lucy spooked during pivot **face palm**
* Amateur Aged Mares - 3rd out of 4 entries
* Aged Mares - 5th out of 5 entries
* Novice Amateur Hunter Under Saddle - 2nd out of 7 entries...Lucy's first 1/2 point in HUS!!!
* Amateur Hunter Under Saddle - 3rd out of 5 entries
* Novice Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation - 1st out of 5 entries...1 point
* Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation - 2nd out of 4 entries
* Novice Amateur Western Horsemanship - 4th out of 11 entries....Pattern was great, railwork sucked. Note to self: plan ahead for better rail position.
* Amateur Western Horsemanship - 4th out of 5 entries

Saturday:

* Novice Amateur Hunter Under Saddle - 5th & 5th out of 11 entries
* Amateur Hunter Under Saddle - 7th & 10th out of 10 entries
* Novice Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation - 2nd & 3rd out of 6 entries.... 'Nuther 1/2 point....CIRCUIT CHAMPION (won a cute hoodie :D )
*Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation - 5th & 5th out of 5 entries...Broke gait during counter canter.
* Novice Amateur Western Horsemanship - 3rd & 6th out of 12 entries...1/2 point
* Amateur Western Horsemanship - 5th & 5th out of 5 entries
* Green Trail - 2nd & 2nd out of 9 entries...1 point....Lucy's first time showing in trail and her (and also my) first open trail point!!!!

Sunday:

* Amateur Showmanship - 7th & 9th out of 11 entries....yeah, so Lucy was a bit sluggish in the trot off and I didn't stop in line with the judge before the 270 pivot **'nuther face palm**


In summary........
* Picked up 1/2 point in HUS, 1 1/2 in points EQ, 1/2 point in Horsemanship, and 1 point in Green Trail.
* Circuit Championship in Nov Am EQ........also picked up enough points to win the 2009 Nov Am EQ year-end championship for ILQHA.
* Won a cool embroidered chair from the ILQHA Amateur commitee for being the highest placing ILQHA member in Amateur Horsemanship.

Had a win photo taken with LuLu.....hopefully, it will be here by Christmas.

Now on to planning my 2010 show schedule....

After last year's 'hastily-put-together' Dr. Horrible costume that I threw together at the last minute, I wanted to redeem myself this Halloween.  But this year I wanted to go as the ELE Dr. Horrible (ie: red lab coat).

Lab coat:
Being on a budget, I opted to alter the "Mad Scientist" costume (approx. $40).  First thing I did was cut the costume down to size; the coat is really long, so I trimmed off some fabric for later use (pocket, back belt, etc.).  I also took this time to cut the side slits.  Prior to dying, I constructed the belt and sewed on a pocket.

To dye the coat, I used iDye Poly red.  Since the garment is 100% polyester, regular fabric dyes will not work.  I used the stove-top method which consists of boiling the garment in the dye for about an hour.  After dying, I took the garment outside, quickly hosed it off with cold water to remove any excess dye, and hung it up to dry overnight.

After fully drying, I removed the black buttons and button fabric strip (the pinkish-colored fabric in the above photo) and replaced them with white buttons.  To finish off the lab coat, I added the caduceus.  For the caduceus, I just found an image online, printed it on sturdy paper, and glued it on.  Forgot to add earlier....the "Mad Scientist" costume comes with black rubber gloves which are just perfect for the ELE costume.

Goggles:
The goggles were certianly less work than the lab coat. First, I coated the green welding googles with one layer of Mod Podge.  Then I applied a few (2-3) layers of Craft Smart metallic silver paint, allowing time for each layer to dry.  I mixed the metallic silver paint with metallic gold paint (50:50 ratio) and applied 2 more layers.
My googles came with a strap that was light blue and black, so I just used a red Sharpie to make it red and black.

With Spring Break finally here, I had some time to make another vid :D

This vid is along the same lines as "Slipping" - Dr. Horrible is tired of all the recognition that Captain Hammer (Corporate Tool) is getting.  Afterall, he is just a pretender...

I've been in a somewhat dismal mood lately, and that is definately reflected in the vid below.  Just had a burning desire to make a depressing Billy/Penny vid after my previous "Charlie" vid (see last entry).

Note: The entire vid takes place in Act III.  The black/white scenes are Billy's emotional flashbacks.

So, here is the fruit of my labor.  I think I finally have the Windows Movie Maker editing software mastered.
